– from the Mickey 17 wikipedia page
I saw Mickey 17 recently and I liked it. It wasn’t anything too amazing but it was still a fun film, I found it funny. I don’t know I just like Bong Joon Ho, Steven Yeun, and Robert Pattison.
All of the actors in the film were great, the movie overall was just a fun watch. I did subvert my expectations with the character Nasha, Mickey’s girlfriend. Originally, I thought they she was going to be the ‘”desposable Black girlfriend trope” because the trailer shows Nasha and Mickey being interested in each other, but then shows Mickey about to kiss a different woman. But, spoiler, he doesn’t cheat and his relationship with Nasha is very endearing and well done, they’re so cute together.
All and all, I liked the movie and definetly recommend it. But I can see why some people don’t/won’t like this movie. I think it’s enjoyable for it’s visual and story aspects, but most importantly for the actors in the film are the best part, every single one of them are entertaining.
